Home to the hollow

I’m heading home to the Hollow this weekend. For those unaware, I grew up in a neighbourhood called Sleepy Hollow. My parents still live there and it is one of my favourite places in the world.

In my mind, I have 2 homes. First, I have my home. The place where I live with The Boyfriend. The place I go home to every day after work. The place with the temperature I cannot control, the internet that is speedy, the cable that is non-existent and the bathroom fixtures that are avacado green. I love this place.

My second home is truly my frist home. It is the place I grew up. It is the place with drafty doors, dial-up internet, satelite TV and thoroughly modern bathrooms with towels that match for both your hair and your body. It’s the place my parents live. It is the place with the cherry orchard beyond the backyard, the ravines beyond that and just a little bit further you may tumble down a cliff into a great lake.

That’s where I’m off to this weekend. I plan on eating good food, watching bad TV and visiting with friends and family. I may even brave the snow and go and check on the lake. Just to see if it’s still there.

 Happy Weekend Everyone!

A cherry orchard? You should start a blogger summer camp there 😉 It sounds like a wonderful place! Hope you had a great weekend!

Sometimes Erie is sneaky and just up and disappears if you don’t check on it every once in a while.

Hi There!

I'm Claire. I like to write about ridiculous things.

I love chocolate but don't think cheese and cake belong together.

I often wish it was socially acceptable to wear glitter before 10pm.
